Intro

This website originally attempted to document my experiences with a Hauppage PVR-500 dual tuner, tuner mpeg encoder tv card, and setting it up in New Zealand for a PAL TV system. This information should be relevant for PVR-150 owners too (The PVR-500 is essentialy two 150's slapped on one PCI card).

Since then, I have expanded it to contain more generalized information for users of other cards. I have kept the focus primarily on PAL and New Zealand users.

History

I had been looking at Digital VCR and DVR type solutions for awhile, and finally decided on MythTV running with a Hauppage dual tuner card.

I purchased the card and managed to get it to a semi working format. I then decided to start a website where I detailed my setup and then kept the site updated with any changes I came across.

I am currently using MythTV with the system. MythTV, for now, seems to be the best option for what I want. I am considering writting my own system later on.
